Smoked Crab Legs

With this simple recipe for smoked crab legs, savor the rich, smokey flavor of crab legs. The inherent sweetness of the crab meat is enhanced by the ideal combination of spices and butter.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs crab legs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions:

Set the smoker's temperature to 225F 107C

After giving crab legs a thorough rinse in cold water, pat dry with paper towels

Combine melted butter, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, smoked paprika, black pepper, and Old Bay seasoning in a bowl

Make sure the crab legs are evenly coated by generously brushing them with the butter mixture

After positioning the crab legs on the smoker rack, smoke them for thirty to forty minutes, or until their internal temperature reaches 145F 63C

During smoking, baste the crab legs with the butter mixture every fifteen minutes

After removing the smoked crab legs from the smoker, serve them hot with extra melted butter on the side for dipping
